The first security committee
The first security committee

In 1988, the committee of security saw its first day, driven at the time by Francois Ferland and Arsene Malenfant. The objective was to optimise the work of the team making sure that each part of the plan worked together and helped the athletes, and have a strong plan of security incase of an urgent event. Since the beginning, security was a big help on site.
Even today, the GPSV collaborates with the program of security at the Cegep de Sherbrooke, the students work to integrate a plan with GPSV security.

Every effort was made to ensure that snowmobilers could attend the first edition of the GPSV. A network of snowmobile trails was designed up in 1983 and a map of the main trails used by snowmobilers was available to help ensure everyone’s safety.
