In 1988, the committee of security saw its first day, driven at the time by Francois Ferland and Arsene Malenfant. The objective was to optimise the work of the team making sure that each part of the plan worked together and helped the athletes, and have a strong plan of security incase of an urgent event. Since the beginning, security was a big help on site.
Even today, the GPSV collaborates with the program of security at the Cegep de Sherbrooke, the students work to integrate a plan with GPSV security. <\/p>\n

Every effort was made to ensure that snowmobilers could attend the first edition of the GPSV. A network of snowmobile trails was designed up in 1983 and a map of the main trails used by snowmobilers was available to help ensure everyone’s safety.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est en 1988 que le comit\u00e9 de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 a vu le jour, pilot\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque par Fran\u00e7ois Ferland et Ars\u00e8ne Malenfant. L\u2019objectif \u00e9tait d\u2019optimiser le travail de l\u2019\u00e9quipe \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019un organigramme qui permettait de comprendre la fonction de chacun et d\u2019ainsi avoir un plan de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 afin de bien r\u00e9agir en cas d\u2019urgence. Depuis le tout d\u00e9but, la technique polici\u00e8re est \u00e9galement d\u2019un grand aide sur le terrain.<\/p>

Encore aujourd\u2019hui, le GPSV collabore avec le programme de technique polici\u00e8re du C\u00e9gep de Sherbrooke, les \u00e9tudiants font partie int\u00e9grante du plan de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du GPSV.<\/p>

Tous les efforts avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en place afin que les motoneigistes puissent se rendre \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re \u00e9dition du GPSV. Un r\u00e9seau des sentiers touristiques avait \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en place en 1983 et une carte des principaux sentiers emprunt\u00e9s par les motoneigistes \u00e9tait disponible afin d\u2019assurer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 de tous.<\/p>
