1994

The Grand Prix Ski-Doo de Valcourt can be proud of their community involvement over the years. In 1993, with the help of Bonsecours resident, Suzanne Houle, the GPV discovered the En Coeur Foundation. The first activity was to collect funds for the organization in 1994, with the organization  of a snowmobile rally. For the second year, the organizers found a more original idea to accumulate the funds. The GPSV would donate all the tips received from the bars during the GPV. This is a tradition that continues until today.

Close to $165,000 was raised for the En Coeur Foundation over 20 years, an average of $8,600 each year. From 2015, the Administration Council decided to change the beneficiary to Leucan Estrie, a foundation that works to benefit local families in the Eastern Townships, who have a child with cancer. Since 2015, the tips from the bars have been donated to Leucan Estrie.

Finally, we could not complete these community activities without our team of volunteers-the event could not run without them. Still today, the interest to be a volunteer is strong yearly. Our team stands out for the support and recognition offered to the 300 volunteers who are always there to lend a hand
