1994

We could say that this year was a success across all lines! Nothing less than an attendance record of 30,000 people and a significant combined impact on the economy and tourism sector, as well as media coverage. The winter of 1994 was marked by the comfortable temperature of 15 °C.  Visitors profited from the rare occasion where they could put away their toques, mittens and jackets. Don’t forget in 1993, the temperature was -30 °C !

The World Series of Snowmobile Races

The 12th Edition also hosted the World Series of Snowmobile Races during the Grand Prix. The best racers in North America were once again reunited, and in each category. This first in history caused momentum; the World Series of track snowmobiles were back the following year to compete for the $65,000 in prize money. This helped make the GPV the most recognized race in Canada. This is also a rarity, if not a first, since International Snowmobile Racing (ISR) has a habit of relocating the event every year (Gaétan Roy, sport column from 1994).
